CHOCOLATE seems to be very good for health and helps you to live longer.

The research found that chocolate, if eaten with zinc addition, activates a compound that slows down aging, writes MailOnline.

Namely, scientists from Germany have established that zinc activates polyphenols. This activation protects the organism from the gas that arises as a waste product of the cells. The resulting gas can damage the human DNA and is considered to have a crucial role in the ageing process and is associated with inflammations that can cause cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.

Apart from chocolate, tea, coffee and wine contain polyphenols that are important antioxidants as they help fight cell damage.

“It is certainly possible that wine, coffee, tea or chocolate will be enriched with zinc in the future,” said researcher dr. Ivana Ivanovic-Burmazovic.

Polyphenols alone can not degrade this gas, but in combination with zinc they create a “mega complex”.

This study was conducted at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, and for the first time the effects of this enzyme were investigated without resorting to metals such as copper and iron. Zinc is less toxic, it can cause vomiting and flavor changes in overdoses. On the other hand, too much iron is associated with liver disease, diabetes, and heart failure, while copper causes fever, anemia, and low blood pressure.
