RESEARCH has revealed the reason why it is important to eat organic fruits and vegetables.
The French examined the effect of organic food on 68,946 adults and turned out that those who consumed such foods more often had a 25 percent lower chance of developing non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and breast cancer in postmenopausal women.
The research lasted for four and a half years, and participants noted eating habits and categorized them according to whether they eat organic foods from their own production, meat and fish, cooked food, sweets, and others.
During the research period, cancer was diagnosed with 1340 volunteers, and most commonly breast, prostate, skin and colon cancer.
The authors of the research state that they can not prove that eating organic food affects a reduction in the chance of developing cancer, but it is definitely an option to consider the introduction of organic foods in the diet.
Scientists have pointed out that organic food is still inaccessible to many because it is more expensive and the result can be evidence that those who consume such food generally better take care of the overall health because they can afford it.
“Organic food may have an important role in reducing the risk of cancer, but its high cost is still an obstacle. It is still affordable to a smaller number of people and high prices are the main obstacle that many people do not eat, “the study concludes.
